Nice attempt. Doing this type of video was a little on the daunting side. I was a bit confused about the layout for your video. About 1:47 into the video you say “Please welcome Dr. Leslie Moller”, which sounded like the finale of your video and I expected next would be Dr. Moller coming out on stage to give his address. Instead you then went into discussing synchronous vs asynchronous learning. Since this was an introduction for a guest speaker, I think your discussion should have come before your welcoming of Dr. Moller. I just found it a bit confusing.
Since I was having a hard time hearing you, I may have missed your point about synchronous vs asynchronous learning, were you simply doing a side by side comparison or were you advocating for one method over the other? My impression was that you were just describing each method. Was Dr. Moller’s (fictitious) address going to be on illuminating the two methods? Was he going to espouse one over the other?
This was a tough project. I truly appreciate the effort you put into your video.
I am so jealous of your scenery!! Great job putting this together. From an editing prospective, I would try to take out the video audio and then tape yourself talking over the video. This will eliminate background noise and other factors that might make it hard to hear you. I know some very easy programs that will help you with that if we have other videos in our future courses. I really liked your topic and I think you did a great job writing and researching it.
Good work on getting the subject up there and moving! Is that an asynchrnous kayak?:) I was listening to your narration and watching the pop-outs on the trailers and wishing I had one. Personally, I think asychronous communications are the working line for most online activities today. I think it fits and solves time problems across the globe. It also gives you time to think before you jump and say something outright foolish. Well, most of the time.
It's interesting to look at the production details of these videos - eh?
Thank you for the comments. Can you suggest some. I tried one and I caouldn't get it to take out the voice. I became a little frustrated. I was new to creating a video and I used my digital camera. I wished I had just used the video camera. It has been stored since my sons death in 2004 and it is hard to use it. I'm sure the job would have been so much better.
Thank you! I got a little messed up when I caouldn't find pictures or video of Dr. Moller and than I thought about putting it at the end when I was finished with the discussion and got busy and in a hurry and forgot. What a mess. I will be redoing it just so I feel comfortable.
I think it was an asynchrnous kayak:) I can't agree with you more that asynchronous gives you time to think before you jump and say something outright foolish. Well, most of the time. I love the think time. I remember when we taught in early education classes think time 1 and think time 2.
It's interesting to look at the production details of these videos - eh? I agree. Everyone had a different idea. I though it would be great to look at something different than shuffling paper. Just my preference!
Thank you for your comments. I had alot of problems shot alot of video and couldn't get rid of the noise. I couldn't find any pictures or video on Dr. Moller. I was going to move the introduction to the end after the discussion and in haste I forgot.
I have too many irons in the fire and was dissapointed in the video. I finally thought I should just submit after I had shown several people whi thought I did a good job.
I agree with you it was a tough project. I truly appreciate the effort you put into your video. I have used video cameras but have never created one from scratch with voice using a digital camera. I can't tell you how much time I had in it. It seemed everything I tried to fix got worse. I lost video I lost voice and thought I was going to loose my mind not to mention a husband.
